Position summary

The incumbent will be responsible for the support of the UNIX servers, VMware environments and storage. He/she will be the prime support resource for the UNIX infrastructure with secondary responsibilities to manage the VMware infrastructure and the storage infrastructure.

The manager Infrastructure-UNIX is responsible for maintaining the integrity and security of enterprise's UNIX (Solaris & Linux) servers and systems which support the various operating units of the enterprise. The Manager Infrastructure- UNIX also develops programs and support systems for all of the enterprise's operation units. The Manager Infrastructure- UNIX is expected to conduct systems analysis and development, with limited support and direction from professional staff, to keep company's systems current with changing technologies.

The Manager Infrastructure- UNIX maintains the enterprise's UNIX servers and educates all professional staff and operating personnel in the use of the UNIX platform, both as a server and a client server operating environment. He/ She is responsible for managing the coordination of communication and support between the user community and the technical and operations functions of IT in relationship with al UNIX functions. In addition, the Manager Infrastructure- UNIX works closely with professional technical staff on the ICT management team in evaluating currents systems and making decisions of future development.
