Job Purpose:

To provide independent & objective assurance over Qatar Rail’s internal control framework, bring a systematic & disciplined approach to evaluation, improve effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes and help protect company assets by ensuring compliance with internal control procedures & regulations and supporting implementation and execution of the Audit Plan.



Duties & Responsibilities:

 Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, operating practices, and documentation.

 Supports implementation of Risk Based Audit approach.

 Assists in the development of the annual audit plan and the management to successful completion.

 Verifies assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation.

 Conducts financial, project management, contract and regulatory compliance, operational and support function audits.

 Completes audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings.

 Appraises adequacy of internal control systems by completing audit questionnaires.

 Discusses to reach agreement of findings with management, including resolution of differences of opinion.

 Communicates audit findings by preparing a high quality final report with appropriate rating of risks and controls, effective summary of issues and practical recommendations.

 Prepares special audit and control reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing operating information and trends.

 Maintains current knowledge of business, organizational, audit and technological changes as well as pertinent internal and regulatory policy and procedural requirements to ensure audit integrity, process innovation and service quality. Makes adjustments to audit methods, programs and systems as appropriate.

 Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 Provide consulting and advisory services regarding financial accounting and reporting, internal controls, compliance, operational efficiency and best practices.

 Effectively interfaces with all levels of management across a broad range of functional disciplines.

 Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
