As one of the members of the banks leadership team the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) will report directly to the CEO as well as the Board. The CCO will lead a team with 10 direct reports across Corporate Governance, Anti Money Laundering & Combating Terrorist Financing as well as Regulatory Support. While the CCO will lead a team of ten, they will be required to champion the development of a “compliance culture” across the bank. An
initiative which will require the CCO to communicate, educate and train all banking staff on all compliance policies and procedures.
As the bank thrusts forward to its next growth spurt it is paramount that its compliance infrastructure is best in class. As well as the world economy develops and businesses become more interdependent the bank cannot afford to be exposed to compliance risk. Quintessential to your success in this role is your knowledge of the Central Bank regulations and the regulatory environment in Oman for Financial Institutions as well as the
legal environment. The preferred candidate will also have strong
relationships in the Central Bank and be in the know regarding the latest changes and developments in this area.
Taking on the full accountability of all compliance factors that govern one of the leading banks in Oman, you will have a commanding knowledge of all areas of the regulatory environment including but not limited to regulations pertaining to Anti- money laundering rules, the Bank’s secrecy and fair credit acts, KYC policy, combating financing of terrorism and other critical compliance areas. The incumbent will have full responsibility to ensure that the bank’s policies and procedures comply with current rules and regulations both on a local and international standard. The CCO will be the main conduit between the regulators and the institution and will be the first and last line of defence against scandals, banking failures and potentially lethal non-compliance issues.
