Brief Posting Description The Senior Projects Management Officer is responsible for managing projects that SDC is involved in, establishes economic objectives of projects in line with organizational goals and monitors projects to ensure that the defined objectives are met. Detailed Description  Participate in conducting and revieiwng the feasibility studies of projects and investments.  Develop project plans for the new projects and setting performance goals for the existing projects in line with departmental objectives, and in preparing project schedules.  Participate in executing planned projects.  Monitoring and controlling applied projects and investments.  Reporting of business & financial performances of projects.  Allocates resources to the projects based on the project plans.  Prepares project cost estimations and develops and administers project budgets and fiscal controls.  Ensures that projects are executed as per plan. Intervenes where required to manage contingencies and roadblocks.  Managing Contract Relationships and select appropriate contractors based on qualification, quality and cost considerations. Enters into contract agreements in line with project specifications. Ensures that contractors perform works in accordance with quality, cost and time schedule requirements.  Advises management about property and liability insurance coverages needed with respect to projects and assets.  Ensures that all projects are executed within the requirements of legal and organizational policy requirements, with respect to financial management, accounting, health, safety and environmental domains.  Works closely with junior colleagues to mentor and develop their skills by identifying areas of development with constructive feedback, sharing knowledge and guiding work. Develop plans and conduct reports for projects.
