Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Director Safety, Health & Environment, the incumbent will ensure an international standard environmental performance of Qatar Foundation as one of the leading organizations of the country through appropriate environmental systems and programs. He will ensure that these systems and programs are well coordinated, resources assigned and scheduled in an efficient professional manner in accordance with Qatar Foundation and global benchmarks. He will be responsible for the development of relevant environmental policies, & procedures and also ensure adherence to the environmental regulations of the State of Qatar.



KEY RESULT AREAS

• Designing and developing the environmental systems to ensure an international standard environmental performance of Qatar Foundation along with its constituent departments and centres, branch campuses and all type of allied establishments.

• Ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental regulations of the State of Qatar as well as all environmental norms that the State of Qatar is obliged to observing by virtue of being a signatory to various international environmental accords and treaties..

• Introducing a variety of appropriate environmental programs both in order to ensuring that all Qatar Foundation communities are exposed to a healthy living environment as well as work environment during the course of their work.

• Leading the Environment team in the initiation, preparation and launching of, as well as implementation and accomplishment of all environment initiatives and endeavours.

• Designing, developing and maintaining an information, education and awareness enhancement program on all the relevant environmental aspects and issues through posters, newsletters, brochures, pamphlets and other material.

• Ensuring a timely and adequate response to all environmental emergencies that occur within Education City premises, onsite and offsite centres, branch campuses and other establishments of Qatar Foundation, Community Housing complexes and managing them on an ongoing basis.

• Being responsible for the general administrative duties in relation to the Qatar Foundation’s environment set-up as well as the hierarchy of relevant environment delivery systems.

• Being responsible for evolving the systems to maintain records and documents in relation to environment systems, and all services rendered and activities taken up by the environment set-up, and all the launched environment programs.

• Planning the resources and supplies, following the assessment of needs through technical surveys and other means of evaluation, in relation to all the environmental services and activities.

• Evolving a meaningful and suitable Business-Plan for the environment function aligning well with the vision and business plan of the ‘Qatar Foundation’ and then proposing an accurate and authentic Budget to execute it, using comprehensive and ‘Zero-Based Budgeting’ approach.
