Job Objective



Undertake Inspection, enforcement, investigations and compliance activities of public and private pharmaceutical facilities with applicable laws and regulations.



Key Responsibilities/Duties



- Conduct on-site Inspection of pharmacies through regular or unannounced visits, to assure the proper delivery of treatment by pharmacists;



- Evaluate pharmacy practices, record keeping, equipment, inventory, security and assure proper drug handling, storage and use;



- Rate pharmacies "safe" or "unsafe"according to applicable relevant criteria;



- Respond to questions from pharmacists and the public regarding the appropriate pharmacy practice and interpretation of laws and rules;



- Examine labeling procedures and expiration dates of medications; Interpret and evaluate physician's orders and prescriptions for accuracy, completeness and appropriateness;



- Verify that medications are dispensed only in accordance with the subscriber's legal authorization;



- Verify that physicians writing prescriptions to consumers are qualified;



- Inspect pharmaceutical providers and wholesalers for compliance with HAAD laws and regulations;



- Prepare legal notices, orders and other required documents for Board disciplinary actions;



- Conduct investigations of consumer complaints related to pharmacy practice and distribution of drugs;



- Direct pharmacists to correct identified deficiencies in the pharmacy and provide written reports of identified deficiencies to the Head -Pharmacies Inspection;



- Produce reports of investigations for presentation to the Section Head, Manager, Director and the Board members as requested;

Advise the Head - Pharmacies Inspection on the cases that should be submitted to the committee meetings;



- Compile reports, statements, etc for consideration of prosecutions, suspensions and revocations in accordance with established procedures;



- Provide testimony regarding investigations at Board meetings and contested case hearings as required



- Attend Medical Board Committee meetings when requested to discuss cases;
