Brief Posting Description
The Head of Vocational Training is responsible to conceptualizes & develops robust processes for assessing, training and placement skill-sets of candidates and monitors the implementation the assessment processes, in line with departmental goals. The incumbent will develops new initiatives for training and placement of candidates and ensures effective implementation
Detailed Description
Understanding and Defining Market Skills based on the job opportunities in the market, defines the skill-sets that candidates need to have to be placed in employer organizations.
Liaises with training vendors to design and develop appropriate training programs based on the skill-sets required for candidates to be employable.
Development Section to understand the skills to be developed in applicants to be employable.
Works closely with the Career Counseling & Screening Section to understand applicant information with respect to existing educational qualifications, and the number of applicants in each category.
Develops and implements a framework and process for assessing developmental needs and skill-sets of applicants in line with the needs of the job market, and in line with the different target segments.
Develops and implements a framework and process for supporting the development of skill-sets of applicants in line with the needs of the job market.
Develops the process of placing candidates with employer organizations based on the candidates' developed skill-set & certification and the needs of the employer organization.
Ensures that the Training & Placement processes are implemented effectively.
Gathers feedback on the effectiveness of the processes, and makes suitable modifications to processes.
Coordinates with other sections in the department to plan the logistical arrangements for conducting assessments for applicants.
Develops an integrated system for assessing the skill-sets of beneficiaries, arranging adequate training programs to develop skills according to placement needs and facilitating placements to beneficiaries.
Works closely with the Vocational Training & Development Manager to prepare and utilize budgets for the activities of the section.
Supervises and coordinates the work of the staff within the section with other sections in the department.
Monitors the performance of the sections within the Vocational Training & Development department to be sure that all training programs activities of the department are conducted in accordance with guidelines of SDC and Qatar Foundation in lieu of TQM requirements and provides support and direction when required to enable achievement of departmental goals.
Maintains a comprehensive awareness of the job opportunities in the market by working closely with organizations that can recruit candidates from SDC.
Assumes responsibility for, and assists, subordinates in managing performance and development and ensures that the HR policies of SDC are executed effectively in the Section.
Works closely with external agencies in the fields of placement and training to facilitate placement and training services to beneficiaries.
Creating new modules based on the Qatari labor market needs & requirements and the career counsel recommendations.
