Key Objectives of the Job
- To attend to all guests requirements and ensure the guests receive professional and efficient service. To be responsible for the full operation of restaurant in the absence of the Restaurant Manager. To assist the restaurant manager to manage the restaurant according to Al Jaber Catering policies and maximize the revenue of food and beverage by providing constantly high quality, well organized service within manning guide and payroll constraints in order to maximize profit levels to the full potential.
Duties and Responsibilities
Tasks:
To contribute to the development and planning of an effective catering service which meets the dietary requirement and choices of service users. To promote choice for service users through assisting the Manager to offer a variety of nutritionally balanced meals within set budgets.To ensure that sufficient stock levels are maintained through applying stock monitoring and measurement practices.To clean and maintain the work area to ensure that food that is stored, prepared or served is safe to do soTo prepare and serve food in an efficient, safe and controlled manner. To promote a sense of common purpose through the embodiment of Capability Scotland's Mission, Vision and Values.To ensure high standards of service delivery through the consistent application of recognized standards and established policies, procedures and practices.Carry out regular competition checks within scope of budget and with the approval of the Catering Operation.Assist the Catering Operation Manager with staff counseling and appraising performance of employees within the department. When appropriate, recommending staff for promotion or transfers in accordance with the Catering office.Instigate and maintain high morale and motivation of employees through leadership, and that teamwork and loyalty develop within the operation.To be involved in the preparation of yearly budget, analyzing of departmental Profit and Loss statements and forecasting, and be responsible for shift control and analysis of other expenses and payroll including overtime in the department in the absence of manager, ensuring that Al Jaber Catering procedures are followed.Assist in setting up and following through an induction schedule for each employee joining the Department as per standard format agreed with the Catering office. Correct scheduling of staff planning.Assist in the preparation of a policy and training manual, including Standard of Performance for the outlet for approval by the Catering Operation Manager.Supervise the brigade at all times ensuring the smooth operation and the correct opening closing of the function room.To be familiar with all regular / VIP clients and their employees through leadership, and that teamwork and loyalty develop within Al Jaber Catering.Ensure that Al Jaber Catering grievance and disciplinary procedures are followed precisely.Maintain up to date records on guest history and preference and provide timely and regular input for the centralized guest history files in the Catering and Sales Offices.Ensure a thorough knowledge of Al Jaber Catering fire and Evacuation procedures including the evacuation procedures relating to the department.<li style="text-a
