The HSE Officer reports to the HRD Manager and has the following duties:
· Develops, implements, and manages the Company’s injury/illness Prevention Program and directs and coordinates the participation of departments;· Creates, modifies, updates safety policies;· Conducts regular safety audits including the inspection of facilities, worksites, equipment, work practices, and safety devices to ensure compliance with required workplace safety standards, regulations, and Company policy;· Reports findings to department and recommends changes to establish safe work conditions; may compel cessation of work in order to address potential imminent hazards; monitors changes and/or makes follow-up inspections;· Coordinates, plans, and implements the actions and recommendations for any safety rules/regulations;· Provides technical assistance and advice on safety rules implementations;· Monitors compliance with applicable laws, policies, procedures, regulations;· Evaluates and determines of changing safety regulations;· Meets regularly with HRD Manager to ensure appropriate action is taken in compliance with Company safety policies to correct hazardous conditions;· Develops and provides individual counseling on safety topics such as: driving safety, personal protective equipment, lifting/back safety, accident preventions techniques, and accident reporting; coordinates the keeping of records of safety training;· Other duties as assigned.
