. The Sales Openers work with leads making outbound calls to generate interest and convince a customer to commit to a sale. They provide marketing information about products and/or services to generate enough interest to garner a commitment from the customer. Once the customer has agreed to the sale or shown enough interest to make a commitment, the Sales Opener will then transfer the call to a Sales Closer, someone who has more experienced salesmanship skills to finalize the sale. When working as a Sales Opener, sales representatives must be able to overcome barriers and resistance to the sales pitch. This position requires someone who has excellent phone skills, charisma, and persistence as well as the ability to think quickly and understand the parameters allowable to make the sale.
