Operate and monitor STG plant and its performance parameters and take appropriate action to correct deviations from established standards to ensure continuity of operations and provision of power in a safe and reliable manner according to load demands.



Job Context:

The position reports to the Shift Supervisor - STG. The jobholder is primarily responsible to attend the control panels, follow the readings and alarms and determine deviations form established standards, take correct action, report status and participate in preparing the units for maintenance and other neededa work. The jobholder must be alert and must have the ability to make quick and correct decisions.



Minimum Qualifications:

Technical Diploma from a recognized institute OR High School graduate



Minimum Experience:

4 years’ relevant plant operational experience in a large power plant as Steam Turbine Generator (STG) control room operator for a Diploma holder

OR

6 years’ relevant plant operational experience in a large power plant including 4 years as STG control room operator for a High School graduate.
