The Company

Kaplan International Colleges offers university preparation in partnership with leading universities in Nottingham, Sheffield, Liverpool, Glasgow, Brighton, Bournemouth, Bristol and London, allowing international students to progress onto a wide range of degree programmes at these partner institutions. The Project

Saudi Electric Services Polytechnic (SESP) is based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and began training operations in September 2012. Presently, there are two SESP training centres in operation: SESP-Baish located in Jizan Province, and SESP-Juaymah located near Dammam in the Eastern Province. SESP, in partnership with Kaplan International Colleges, is opening SESP-Riyadh in the Central Province in August 2014 and SESP-Jouf in the Northern Province in early 2015.



Trainees at each SESP campus study English, Health and Safety, Science, Mathematics and various technical disciplines during their two-year study program. All of the trainees are either high school or technical college graduates and study for 30 contact periods per week. Class sizes average between 15-17 trainees. The curriculum including testing and measuring is based a 10-week quarter system with breaks between each training cycle.

As part of the team at SESP, you will be helping us achieve our mission through a learner-centered approach producing highly competent work-ready technical graduates for the power utility industry. We work hard to offer Saudi nationals a credible and relevant qualification, modern facilities and a supportive student environment.



To do this, we have created syllabuses and materials that are relevant to Saudi culture and the power utility industry. We do this through encouraging skill development in English that complements the roles trainees will have to perform in their technical jobs safely and efficiently.



We offer our ESL professionals relevant work-related opportunities encouraging and supporting them to stay connected with equipment and procedures used in the power utility industry. The Role



1. Provide academic leadership to the department and input to policy-making bodies across the entire SESP network.

2. Leadership of and/or membership in SESP Academic Committees.

3. Develop and review curriculum, resources, testing and assessment, teaching and learning strategies department-wide.

4. Promote a range of blended learning practices in coordination with all SESP campuses.

5. Develop and implement class timetables and teacher rosters.

6. Manage the department efficiently ensuring all mandatory teacher tasks are completed in a timely manner while ensuring necessary management support and guidance to staff.

7. Ensure effective operation of Lead Teachers through direction, support and development.

8. Plan and oversee appropriate professional development for staff within the department.
