The British Embassy in Dubai has a vacancy for a Government Relations Officer(GRO). We are looking for a full time person who will be responsible for co-ordinating and ensuring smooth arrival and departure for Locally Engaged and UK based staff and their families. Dealing with necessary authorities and keeping up to date with the required local and national regulations with concerned government departments. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Dealing with the various/concerned UAE authorities for the smooth arrival and departure of UK based and LE Staff in the UAE and the Embassy.• Liaising with the MFA, Dubai Police, Dubai Customs, Traffic Department, GRO in Abu Dhabi, British Council, other Embassies and Consulates when required.• Obtaining UAE Visit Visas for other British Embassy Staff across the network.• Arranging for Meetings for Embassy Officials with UAE authorities. • Logistics of arrival and departure of Diplomatic Bags• Requisitioning and Receiving on Embassy Oracle based software. • Oversee Business Cards for all Embassy Staff which would include proof reading. • Translation(Arabic/English/Arabic) when required for various departments withing the Embassy. Some protocol work when required. • Back-up for, Transport Officer and Reception as required • Arrange with contracters the release of Unaccompanied Airfreight and Heavy Baggage for UK based Staff • Registration of Embassy Vehicles both official and diplomatic staff. • Arranging hotel and airline ticket bookings when required. • Issue salary certificates, medical letters, etc (in English and or Arabic)• To take part in the Embassy emergency planning and any response to a Crisis affecting UK citizens.
