We are looking for a Mechanic Heavy Vehicle:



Responsibilities Include



• Perform technical inspections in order to determine the extent of repairs, repair parts required, and cost of repairs.

• Perform troubleshooting using special tools, diagnostic test equipment, and test benches.

• Perform spare parts research using the manufacturer’s repair parts catalogue, and ensure that only the repair parts required are requisitioned in the appropriate quantities.

• Repair or replace major assemblies (diesel and gasoline engines, manual and automatic transmissions, transfer cases, differentials) and their associated subsystems (starters, alternators, brakes, and suspension components).

• Align, adjust, and calibrate all aspects of heavy wheeled vehicles, using special tools, diagnostic test equipment, and test benches.

• Perform servicing in accordance with all directives and manufacturer’s technical manuals.

• Complete maintenance-related documentation such as work orders, repair parts request forms, and technical data sheets. Record maintenance-related data such as work accomplished, hours associated with accomplishing work, repair parts requirements, and vehicle-specific information.

• Comply with all safety, housekeeping, and environmental directives.

• Ensure all issued tools, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE) are accounted for, maintained, and secured.

• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor, Heavy Vehicle.
